Yesterday was the Easter Egg Party at the Launch Pad, a community arts space located about a block away from Sterling Bed and Breakfast, on Franklin Avenue. Kids from around the neighborhood came over and painted eggs. There were also many adults. The party went from 2 p.m. till midnight. There was live music for a large portion of the party. The songs were great and very kid-friendly. They really helped to set the mood. I went over there and made a couple of eggs and had some of the free drinks and snacks. After a few hours they brought out some games and they got really competitive. They then made fresh and tasty popcorn with there popcorn machine. It was a pretty awesome experience for all age groups. The Launch Pad will continue to hold various events throughout the year and beyond, including musical events, art shows and classes. This new community arts space, the first in the Crow Hill area, is just an extension of the growing artistic influence in the area.
