March 2010 | March 28, 2010

If you are looking for great art nearby, head right over to the Brooklyn Museum. Only one stop away on the 2 and 3 trains, or a short walk from Sterling Bed and Breakfast, it hosts a wide selection of amazing exhibits. There are always various exhibitions running, but one current exhibit that catches the eye is ”To Live Forever: Art and Afterlife in Ancient  Egypt.”

“To Live Forever” deals with what ancient Egyptians believed about life, death and the afterlife. It is truly interesting because it goes in depth about how the ancient Egyptians’ funeral process worked. The exhibit shows the almost unbelievable difference between poor, middle class and rich funerals. It is an exhibit that surrounds you with ancient artifacts.”To Live Forever: Art and the Afterlife in Ancient Egypt” is organized by Edward Bleiberg, Curator of Egyptian Art at the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibit ends May 2, 2010. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday.
